About the warm tiled roof

The flagship warm tiled roof.

The warm tiled roof is Ultraframe’s flagship system — engineered specifically for conservatory geometries and lightweight enough to fit on most existing frames without structural reinforcement. The deep insulated rafter zone delivers full warm-roof thermal performance for warm year-round comfort, the composite tile finish matches the existing house from above, and the plasterboard ceiling underneath means the conservatory now reads internally as a real room. The right choice when you want the space to be a kitchen extension, dining room or family room — used year-round, not just in spring and summer.

Warm year-round

Full warm-roof thermal performance. Matches modern new-build standards — the conservatory holds temperature year-round, no different to any other room in the house.

Lightweight composite tiles

Engineered tile system at 30-40 kg/m² — light enough for existing conservatory frames where traditional slate at 45-55 kg/m² would need expensive reinforcement.

Zero rain noise

The insulated build-up and tile finish eliminate the drumming and percussion of rain on glass or polycarbonate. Quiet through the worst Fenland weather.

Three-to-five day install

Existing roof off, new structure on, weathered in, internally finished. Most jobs across Peterborough wrap up inside a working week with minimal disruption to the rest of the house.

What you get

The build, in detail.

380mm rafter depth

The 380mm in the name. Deep insulated rafter zone gives full warm-roof performance — the same construction principle used in modern loft and roof extensions, scaled and engineered for conservatory geometries.

Composite tile finish

Choice of tile profiles and colours, matched to your existing house roof. From above, the new conservatory roof reads as part of the original property — particularly important on conservation-area and period homes.

Internal plasterboard ceiling

A plastered, painted internal ceiling — not exposed glass or polycarbonate. The conservatory now reads internally as a real room. Downlights, pendants and ceiling features can all be specified.

Roof windows & sun tunnels

Daylight is not sacrificed. Velux roof windows or Sun Tunnels can be positioned anywhere on the new roof — most projects include 2-4 as standard, keeping overhead natural light without the all-glass thermal problems.

Common questions

What homeowners ask us about the warm tiled roof

Will it fit on my existing conservatory?

In most cases, yes — the system is designed to be light enough for existing conservatory frames. We survey the structure, run the calculations, and if any reinforcement is needed it’s in the written quote. We don’t fit a roof we’re not confident the structure will hold.

How much does it cost?

A warm tiled roof on a standard 3m × 3m Edwardian conservatory typically runs £8,000–£14,000 fitted. Larger Victorian or P-shape designs run £12,000–£22,000. Every price includes Building Regs sign-off, scaffolding, full removal of the old roof, internal plasterboard ceiling finish, and our 10-year guarantee.

Do I need Building Regs approval?

Yes — the thermal performance and structural loadings change. We handle the submission and the calculations, and the certificate of completion is in your handover pack. We’ll confirm the specific requirements for your build at survey.

Will I lose all my natural light?

Not the way modern systems work. We can fit roof windows and sun tunnels anywhere on the new roof — most projects include 2–4 as standard. Most customers tell us their new conservatory feels lighter than the old one because the daylight is controlled rather than overwhelming. If overhead light really matters, we can also discuss the roof-lantern hybrid.

Will I lose headroom?

Typically 10–15cm — that’s the insulation and plasterboard layer. We measure existing heights at survey and confirm the finished dimensions in writing before any work starts. On very low-ceiling conservatories we might recommend a glass roof upgrade or roof lantern instead.

How long is the guarantee?

10 years on the manufacture from Ultraframe, plus our 10-year insurance-backed workmanship guarantee — cover continues even in the unlikely event our business closes. Registered with QANW, certificate in your handover pack.

We highly recommend Custom Choice Home Improvements. We recently had seven windows and one door replaced, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. From our initial contact, Tariq's communication was clear and consistent.
