We highly recommend Custom Choice Home Improvements. We recently had seven windows and one door replaced, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. From our initial contact, Tariq's communication was clear and consistent.

About the range
Tradition redefined since 1985.
Sash windows have been a defining feature of British architecture since the late 17th century. The Rose Collection — by Roseview, the first company in the UK dedicated to timber-alternative sash — captures all the elegance of traditional timber sashes while delivering the performance and convenience of modern materials. Three systems, four decades of refinement, fitted across Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the Fens.
35mm slim midrail
Authentic timber sightlines, not the chunky modern sash midrail you find on most uPVC alternatives.
True mechanical joints
Ultimate Rose uses real mechanical joints — not welded — for a finish indistinguishable from solid timber.
Conservation-grade
Specified across conservation areas. Often the only uPVC sash window approved on heritage projects.
Made in the UK since 1985
Roseview pioneered timber-alternative sash. Over 40 years of refinement on a single product.

Ultimate Rose
The UK’s most authentic timber-alternative sash
The flagship. Ultra-slim 35mm midrail, seamless construction, true mechanical joints, and a host of period features that give Ultimate Rose an unmistakably solid-timber look and feel, both inside and out. Three sash horn designs (Dolphin, Seahorse, Emperor), choice of putty line or chamfered profile, optional deep cill. The benchmark every other timber-alternative sash window in the UK is measured against.
- True mechanical joints (not welded)
- 35mm seamless slim midrail
- Three sash horn designs available
- Warm year-round with ThermoVFlex

Heritage Rose
The classic period sash, updated for the 21st century
Second only to Ultimate Rose in the range. High-end traditionally-styled uPVC sash window for homes that want the charm and elegance of period timber sashes with the low-maintenance performance of modern materials. Slightly wider 44mm mitre-welded midrail (vs Ultimate’s 35mm mechanical-jointed), with the same slim putty-line profiles and optional flat run-through or clip-on sash horns. The sweet spot for most Victorian and Edwardian properties.
- 44mm mitre-welded midrail
- Welded corners with run-through horns
- Choice of putty-line or chamfered profile
- ThermoVFlex compatible, warm year-round

Charisma Rose
Competitively priced style and versatility
A bolder, more contemporary appearance with a slightly chunkier midrail. Versatile enough for upgrading existing windows on older properties, or adding retro-chic to newly built homes. More budget-friendly than Ultimate and Heritage, but still built with the same care and the same high-spec Caldwell balances. The right choice when you want sash detailing without the conservation-grade price tag.
- Standard contemporary sash profile
- Welded corners, run-through horns
- Caldwell tensioned balances
- Warm year-round (ThermoVFlex upgrade)

Common questions
What homeowners ask us about sash windows
Which Rose Collection window is right for my home?
Three options. Ultimate Rose is the benchmark — true mechanical joints, the most authentic timber look — and the right choice for listed buildings and conservation areas. Heritage Rose has the same slim profiles at a more accessible price — the sweet spot for most Victorian and Edwardian homes. Charisma Rose has a wider midrail and is best for modern properties wanting period character. We’ll help you choose at the survey.
Are Rose Collection windows approved for conservation areas?
Yes. Ultimate Rose is specified across conservation areas and listed properties nationwide, and we’ve fitted plenty across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. Talk to us before submitting a planning application — we’ll advise on the right specification and provide manufacturer letters of authenticity where you need them.
How energy efficient are they?
Triple-glazed Rose Collection windows deliver warm year-round thermal performance — significantly better than Building Regulations require and on par with modern casement windows. Six separate weather seals keep the home draught-free and quiet, despite the traditional sliding sash mechanism.
Do they really look like timber?
Yes — Ultimate Rose in particular is genuinely difficult to tell from solid timber at close range. Mechanical joints (rather than the visible weld lines on most uPVC sashes), authentic period detailing, and putty-line glazing all recreate the look of a 19th-century timber sash. Most visitors can’t tell until they touch the frame.
How much do they cost?
Heritage Rose typically runs £950–£1,400 per window fitted. Ultimate Rose sits about 15–25% higher for the mechanical joints and extra detailing. Charisma Rose is the most accessible at £750–£1,100 per window. Every price includes survey, removing your old windows, FENSA registration and our 10-year guarantee. Written quote in 48 hours.
Do they need trickle vents?
Usually yes, under current Building Regulations. The trickle vents on Rose Collection windows are discreet and colour-matched to the frame so they don’t spoil the look. We confirm what you need at survey — no surprises on the final invoice.
Real installs, real reviews
Sash installs our customers love
Period restorations, conservation properties, listed buildings. Here's what homeowners say about their Rose Collection sash windows.
In total we had 8 windows, a front door and French doors fitted. The Custom Choice team came round, took measurements and then sat down with us to show us the full selection of windows and doors. Tony, the person who came round, was fantastic.
We had 9 new windows and special custom arched front door in Agate Grey. Very pleased, cottage looks super now. Tony was brilliant — steered us through with excellent advice from initial visit and progress satisfaction throughout. Thanks also to Brian — surveyor / fitter
