Old single-glazed sashes can lose up to 40% of your home's heat through the windows alone. Even tired early double-glazing from the 1990s leaks energy through worn seals, blown units and aluminium spacers. A modern A-rated window — argon-filled, low-emissivity, with warm-edge spacers — slashes heat loss, cuts your bills, dampens road noise and stops the condensation pooling on your sills every winter morning. For period homes, conservation areas and contemporary new builds wanting authentic flush-sash detail without timber maintenance. We specify the Residence Collection across traditional, modern and slim contemporary flush-sash for projects where the frame is the product, alongside chamfered, sculptured and slim-line profiles for standard replacement work.
Slim sightlines, maximum glass
For homes where the architecture deserves frames that disappear. Slim aluminium sightlines mean more glass, cleaner lines and any RAL colour. We specify Cortizo for thermally-broken Spanish engineering, Schüco where the German benchmark is called for, and Origin for British family-made aluminium.
Timber-look, modern performance
For Victorian terraces, Georgian townhouses and period properties where vertical sliding sash is the only window that looks right. We fit the Rose Collection by Roseview — UK pioneer of timber-alternative sash since 1985 — across Ultimate, Heritage and Charisma models, each with the 35mm slim mid-rail that’s indistinguishable from timber at close range.
Aluminium, three ways
Aluminium window choice usually comes down to the project. Slim sightlines and triple glazing? Cortizo. Highest possible engineering spec for a contemporary new build? Schüco. Powder-coated British aluminium with a 20-year frame guarantee? Origin. We specify and fit all three.
Slim sightlines, large openings
Spanish-engineered aluminium with some of the slimmest sightlines on the market. Thermally-broken systems supporting triple glazing for warm year-round comfort, alongside the bifold doors we install for large rear openings.

A typical 3-bedroom semi runs £4,500–£7,500 for A-rated uPVC, £8,000–£14,000 for the Residence Collection, and £10,000–£18,000 for Origin or Cortizo aluminium. Sash window replacements vary with the property and number of openings. We give you a written, itemised quote within 48 hours of survey. No deposit until you're happy with the spec.
It depends on the property and the look you want. Aluminium suits contemporary homes and large openings where you want slim sightlines and maximum glass. uPVC (especially the Residence Collection) suits period homes wanting timber appearance with modern performance. Sliding sash is the right choice for Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian properties where vertical sliding sash is architecturally correct. We will advise on the right specification at your free survey.

Yes. Residence 9 was specifically designed around conservation area guidelines and is the most-installed conservation window in Peterborough. We also fit the Rose Collection sliding sash for properties where vertical sliding sash is required. Talk to us before submitting a planning application — we have done dozens locally and can advise on the right spec.
A-rated double glazing is the minimum spec we fit. Many of our installations go further: the Residence Collection delivers warm year-round triple-glazed thermal performance well below Building Regulations minimums, Cortizo aluminium and Origin sit similarly. We will quote both double and triple glazed options so you can choose based on cost vs lifetime energy saving.
Survey to installation is typically 6–10 weeks for uPVC, 8–12 weeks for Residence Collection and Rose Collection, and 8–14 weeks for Cortizo/Origin aluminium. We commit to a date in writing at the point of order and stick to it. Custom Choice doesn’t take on jobs we cannot finish on schedule.
